ParticipantHi,
I have a Neff V5360XO washing machine.
The other day it was being used as normal,
when it made a loud bang almost at the end of a program (2m left). The machine completed the program but the the drum was no longer spinning.
I followed various advise online, and when I removed the back of the machine,
I could clearly see that the belt had slipped from its correct position. However, I also noticed on the floor (inside the machine) to the left and right fairly large pieces of some kind of black rubbery/plastic material.
(Pardon the poor technical language but I am a layman at such matters). So clearly it is not just the belt that was the issue.
(Infact the condition of the belt seems excellent, but the other item has clearly exploded!!)I’m hoping someone can tell from the image attached what is the other item that needs replacing,
I have circled the broken parts in red (2 places on the image).Any opinions would be most welcome.
Many thanks,
Joe.January 1, 2014 at 11:38 am #406966burns

This machine will have been fitted with what I would describe as bitumen sheets, for vibration. These can dry out and fall off. Same thing you find in your car doors, under sknks etc. Nothing to do with the belt coming off. But check the condition of the belt and play in the drum. Retry the belt if undamaged.

Thanks for the reply.
Ok, so I tried to put the belt back on, and then I noticed that the pulley on the back of the drum is rock solid!
I then tried to spin the drum from the front of the machine,
opening the machine door, and again the drum was rock solid,
could not budge it an inch…so clearly there is an issue here – though I have no clue what it means!
Also – I have supplied another image – I noticed this pipe is not connected to anything (circled in red),
which instinctively does not seem right to me.Any opinions would be most welcome.

You have probably lost a sock due to overloading the machine and it’s got caught between the drum and tub? The small hose is the pump drain tube attached to the drain filter.
P.S stick to one thread and don’t open another otherwise it gets messy and the mods go mental. 😉
