The bearings are dead. I now have some new bearings but having removed the pulley and taken out the 6 bolts that hole the Spider it does not seem to move. Do I have to split the drum or should the spider come of the back?
    Thanks

The drum shaft is an interference fit within the bearings. You will need to protect the end of the shaft and drive it out with a big hammer, whils pulling the bearing spider towards you.

Thanks. Just for anyone else trying – they have made the spider bolts push the edge of the drum into recesses in the end of the spider so it does not pull out. Had to use a thin piece of steel and carefully straighen the indents!
