    Hi all

I just posted this, but I don’t know which forum it went into. My AEG washer dryer 16830 (PNC 914602122) from 2006 was just now in a drying cycle when there was a ‘click’ and it stopped. No display, no change when moving the programme dial to other programmes. The door would not open for a while, but now has. Obviously I will need to check the plug’s fuse when I can get the machine out, but if it is not that simple I am hesitant to book an engineer owing to the machine being 15 years old and the possible cost of the fix and parts. It any of you have ideas I would be grateful to hear from you. Thanks.

first you need to make sure power is getting to the machine
then remove the main board and look for damage

Thanks for your reply, Dave. Regrettably, it was not the fuse. I’ve taken the lid off, and cannot see anything that looks like damage or eg burn marks. I tried to upload a photo, but the website says I only have 19.5kb available – that is not enough for anything. I have no idea about the main board – what it looks like, where it is located or how to remove it. So I don’t know whether to contact an engineer or scrap what was a good machine. It’s all about the likely cost.

to use a pic you need to host it on another site and post a public link

main board should be in a plastic box hanging from the right side top rail of the case
