I have the usual e20 code on my aeg; i’ve had to remove the condensor chamber twice in ~3 years to clean it which as we all know is no small job. Its made worse this time as the dryer has been fitted in a new location, under a counter and next to another machine meaning disassembling half the room to get it out. Yes, bad idea in hindsight knowing the maintenance involved with this model.
Anyway – i’m resigned to doing the above to fix the e20 but while doing so can at least take the opportunity to address a rumbling sound its been making on dry cycle for a few months. Would be good before taking it out to have a pretty good idea what is making the noise so i can arrange spares. Anyone have any clues? It hasn’t seemed to affect the drying performance and is only on the dry cycle. Presumably its a bearing, fan, motor or similar but its not the main drum bearing at least, so am hoping it is a replaceable item…
Cheers

Thanks for the reply – prod no. Is 914605309 02. Will that ventilator fit? Looks like it’s about £65 – how confident are you that’s the cause…?

ventilator for your comes as part number 1323243442
you can check if i am right
remove lid
ventilator unit is in the rear right
remove belt
spin fan unit if it rumbles you have found italso this is the only mechanical device that is only used by the tumble dryer. if it was the pump or the motor it would do it on wash as well
