AEG 3888-8KG Temp Sensor

After getting an Engineer from DomexUK came to charge me 35quid for telling me what I already knew from the AEG site that the Temp sensor had failed on my fridge.
DomexUK called told me, parts don’t exist for this fridge any more scrap it and buy a new one..

After some more online searching I have located the temp sensor at this site:

I am trying to find a service manual to guide me through replacing this but can’t find one.
Can anyone give me some pointers to check the best way to get at the sensor to swap it out.

I.e. from the back or near the light ?

according to service manual there are 2 sensors in you fridge and 1 in your freezer

there is an air sensor and an evaporator sensor

from manual fault diags
look at front display on fridge if there is a 0 in the top of the dislay its the evap sensor if its in the bottom its the air sensor

some of these sensors may be foamed in and require foam digging out and replacing
