Hello folks, my first post go easy!
    These forums are great btw!

Right I have a AEG 50730 SENSORLOGIC FAVORIT which has suddenly stopped working. the main “power LED” is very dim but IS on, “30 MIN LED” is on solid and bright (suspect this is the default program?) and the top LED out of the bank of 5 is on solid (this one looks like a hair brush!)

There is a very slight buzz comming from the front panel (cant say I have noticed this before) and none of the buttons are functioning at all. very strange indeed, before this it did appere to miss the odd timed cycle but i just put this down to the missus not setting it correctly!

I am an IT engineer who isnt afraid to get his hands dirty and im handy with a multi meter, ig anyone has any suggestions it would be great.

Re: AEG 50730 Packed up, strange fault

If the programme light was flashing and the “hairbrush” lit, it would indicate a time-out on fill. Again, if the humming noise was coming from the lower part of the machine, it would suggest that there is power to the inlet valve, and it is being held closed by the pneumatic flood protection system. In turn, this would point to a fault in the IWMS.

If the humming is actually coming from within the control panel (open the door with power on – pcb stays powered) it is very possible that the transformer on the pcb is breaking down and corrupting the programming.
