ParticipantHello peeps
AEG competence 5231bm main fan not working, the fan that blows air out the top comes on and stays on for a while after oven on.
Oven seems to heat up but not to correct temperature.
Tried resetting and made sure not in auto.
Any ideas anyone???May 29, 2014 at 4:00 pm #414569Martin

Fan motor jammed, worn shaft bearings on it?

Element on back wall not working neither is the fan behind it.
Would the fan still work if the element was shot?
Top element/fan fineMay 30, 2014 at 5:14 pm #414571Martin

To look into this more deeply for you, you will need to provide the full model number (PNC number). What you have given is not enough/correct. 🙁

AEG Competence 5231B-M
PNC number is KD 944. 181 101 – 107/713100
Yes doesn’t seem as hot but think that’s because it’s just the top element working, the one at the back won’t work.
I was going to change the element but could it be something else as the big fan behind it is not working eitherMay 30, 2014 at 6:12 pm #414574Andy jones

Check out the thermal trip inside. Power off first don’t forget. :zap:

I don’t think the fan is humming there’s no change in noise when going through all the different settings. The cooling fan comes on straight away and is constant don’t know if it’s normal.
Not sure where the thermal trip is but would that bd the problem if it was cutting out after getting hot or could it stop the element/fan from coming on to start with.
Wife now tells me the element/main fan stopped working after a power cut?June 3, 2014 at 3:08 pm #414577Martin
