ParticipantI thought this was going to be an easy call…
Looked at this machine in January, customer complained it finished the cycle full of water. This fault was intermittent and regardless of the tests I carried out it I couldn’t get the machine to fail to drain.
I went through the whole drain system from the sump to drain hose and couldn’t find any blockages. Although the drain pump sounded OK (didn’t ‘rattle’ when starting) I decided it could only be an intermittent pump fault so changed it.Now some 8 months later the fault has reared its ugly head again. According to the user since I changed the pump in January the problem fault was a lot better but it still happened occasionally but now it happens to about 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the washes.
AS far as i can ascertain the machine goes through the complete cycle and finishes in the off position, the clothes have been washed but water has remained up to the bottom of the door. When the machine is put on another spin or drain program it drains without a problem. The user is a bit vague so I’m not sure if there has been a problem since the pump had been fitted. They’re tenants and whenever you ask a question they’re defencive with the reply!
Anyway…..I’ve checked the filter and the pump, I can’t find any blockages, the pump still sounds OK. I have run the machine through 5 final rinse and spins with a load and it drains and spins every time.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Can you get an air lock in the pump chamber on this?August 15, 2009 at 11:06 am #294651robbra

Could it be rinse hold?

I don’t think so, they said the dial moves to the off position, if it was the rinse hold it would stop before the spin.

Have you had the sump hose off. These are favourite for trapping coins and badges the same diameter as the hose that could be acting as a butterfly making it an intermittent fault.

Not this time round I haven’t, I was thinking on the lines of it being the original fault where I had checked for that but it would make sense to check it again this time round.
I will let you know what I find.
