aeg 72630 no drum rotation

Hi guys
Any further advice re next checks to diagnose an AEG 72630 91400209601 machine gratefully accepted…

empties fine on pump out. fills ok from empty. when filling for ‘quick rinse’ lets water in and seems to keep adding more as minutes pass (in short bursts).This may be normal! No drum movement or noise to suggest motor strain in any wash program, rinse program or spin.

Drum belt seems intact. My suspicion is either a faulty sensor (what/where) not permitting the motor to get power, or a problem with the motor. You guys may have other thoughts…

Old machine (10y) but has been v reliable.

Am happy to open up and check/replace parts if possible but any further prompting would be most gratefully received.

(And as for the user name- brain and fingers hadn’t completely woken up…)

That was my first thought too, but being more used to fixing people than washing machines thought I’d ask first.

Happily, new brushes solved the problem completely and were in stock locally.

Wife even happier… 😉
