    Hi, i have an infuriating issue with my AEG tumble dryer, which has stopped working at all, its part of a set with an 8000 series washer so i wnat to fix and not replace.
    Model=T865801H
    PNC= 916 096 749 01
    I replaced one of the drum rollers, due to bearing wear, and the machine worked perfectly for a few days, when suddenly when we went to select a cycle it showed Err in the display immediately on pressing start, this then reverted to time when start button released. I tried turning it on and off, no change, i tried removing power for a couple of hours, no change. I tried entering diagnostic mode by pressing Start and delay start at the same time. At position C1 it does cycle the display symbols, but at C2-C7, nothing at all happens, even if left at each position, none of the motor, pump or fan tests work at all. When it is turned to position C8 i get a E32 error code. I have checked the two humidity sensor probes in the drum, and they are very clean and now completely lint free, the purple wires all the way to the board are properly connected. There is nothing in an do to get it to stop showing Err every time I press start button!
    Visual inspection of the control boards shows no burnt or visually defective components…I have pictures if it helps.
    I am at a loss as to what to check, a new control board is expensive and very difficult to obtain, (I think the part number is 973 916 096 749 01 5) I don’t want to replace it to find it’s something unconnected.
    Only other ‘symptoms’ over the past few months have been that the LED light does not ‘dim’ after the cycle starts and lack of drying properly unless ‘extra dry’ is selected (i put the latter down to a worn/split rear drum felt seal letting in air, which I replaced at the same time as the drum roller.
    Any idea welcome, I am confident with using a multimeter, if there are any electrical checks i can do to defiantly confirm a Control Board failure.
    thanks

    try 2 things first

    1 check the child lock is off, if it has one

    2 remove and replace all small electrical plugs on both the panel and inverter

    Thanks for the suggestions, pretty sure I checked the child lock, and suspect I could not enter diagnostic mode with it on, i also unplugged every plug on the main PCB, the display PCB and checked the inverter plugs and the compressor plugs…will try again but suspect this is not the issues unfortunately
    thanks anyway

    my next check would be the inverter. they have their own power supply to supply 5volts or so to the board for the logic circuits. if this blows then motor wont work
    beware Inverter boards contain capacitors the can be charged up to 320v even when off at the plug
