    Hi,

I have this hob that needs a new hotplate. I ordered a replacement and it’s not the same as the original one, the wiring is different.
Would anyone have a wiring diagram for it please?
    The original has tags 1, 2 and 3, S, H, 1a and 2a. There is a link going from 2 to 1a
    The new hotplate has 2a, 3, 4 and S and H.
    I was going with,
    2a to 2a
    1 to 4
    3 to 3
    S to S
    H to H
    Anyone have any better ideas?

    Thanks,
    Ray

would need to see a pic of both plate connections

all thats happened i would guess is the themal limiter has been integrated into the connection block

we need to work out what the connections do to work things out

start with the simple ones. on the new ring 3 and 4 are the end of the inner and outer elements
which on the old ring looks like 1 and 3. so if as you say you connect 3 to 3 and 1 to 4 the only thing that can go wrong is inner and outer elements will be swopped

the current link between 1a and 2 has been replaced by the yellow link.

that leaves us with 3 wires

one wire is the live feed to the ring
the other 2 are the hot indicator lamp

take your multimeter and measure continuity between the 2 reds. if yes then the green terminal comes from the simmerstat load output to power the ring. do a similar test on the old ring see which connection give you 0 ohms between the link wire and 1 of the other terminals. which ever one that is is the live feed to the ring. remove wires before testing in case of back feeds.

the last 2 wires are only a sw for the lamp and it should not matter which way they go

    hope this makes sense
