This oven (PNC 944185045 S/N 44840544) has been exhibiting cooling fan overrun problems. Eventually the fan ran all night and only stopped when the power was switched off at the wall socket. When switched on again, the power light and clock came on but there was no heating and the fans would not run. I have replaced the oven thermostat and the cooling fan control (8996619267611) which had failed and had the characteristic burn-ring but I still have no heating or fan function.

Some guidance as to where to go from here would be appreciated…

    Hi Mike

I know it sounds silly but did you check that the timer is not set to auto. When you power down cooker and switch back on the clock defaults to auto and you need to set it to manuel and correct time. The clock controls the live supply to all parts of the cooker except for the power light which would link into what you have.

Not silly at all and rather embarrassing for me! The clock needs to be set before the elements and the fans can be powered up. It says as much in the troubleshooting section of the User’s Manual. I rushed right in and neglected the most basic principle – RTFM (and only after that, complain).

All fixed now – thanks Geoff.
