AEG Competance Oven Switching Off – Not Cooling Fan though

HI.

My AEG D8100-1 occasionally switches itself off, usually after 10 minutes or so. I’ve read the thread on similar issues but this is different, as the oven doesnt shut down, If I catch it switching off I can switch it straight back on. The cooling fan runs fine, and the clock stays on regardless.

It doesnt always do it. It went 6 months behaving perfectly well but now its doing it 2-3 times a week and driving me mad.

This happened a few years ago (2007) and we got stung for a new PCB and fan motor (£190 including callout) – is there something obvious I can look for before giving up and buying a new oven?

Bit of a monkey this opne. You need to check your elements are not short circuit to earth. Its usually the fan element going down. You will need a decent test meter, for this preferably a megger
