AEG Competence 305 B-W

My oven has just developed a fault that is wiping out the main trip on my incoming electric to the whole house. The oven is an AEG Competence 305 B-W (E-nr 611 575 956).

I can turn on the oven or the grill on the left hand mode select switch, however the moment I open the right hand thermostat switch the trip flips out. I can however turn the thermostat switch on or off as I like when the mode switch is set to zero.

I hope someone out there can help me, my suspicions lie with the thermostat switch but I am open to any help at all !!

It’ll be one of the elements more than likely, probably the fan oven one:

They need to be checked for earth leakage with the relevent test equipment, power off when checking please or check the repairs@ link below if you’re unsure how to do this 🙂
