AEG competence 5212 main oven problem

I have a strange problem with the main oven, when it is on fan setting there is no heat but on all the other settings the element is fine. can anyone help with an answer, it may be a thermostat but i cannot be sure. ive tested the element and on all setting apart from fan there is supply, as soon as the fan is put on no voltage

Are you sure you dont have more than one element? Often 2 (1 top and one bottom) for the convection setting and a thrid element around the fan. Sounds like the fan element may have gone. You need to post the correct model number (starts either 611 or 911) for any further info.

couldnt find a 5212 but if its like a 5210 then just the fan symbol is for defrosting and doesnt turn the element on, i take it its an oven thats new to you ?
