KD 944.181 070-027/558733On fan oven setting the oven heats up and seems to run fine until I put food in it. After the food has been in a short while the main fuse is tripped. At this point even when the main fuse board is reset any movement of the function selection knob trips everything again. After leaving it to cool and trying again the following day it started up again but again the introduction of food tripped everything.
The grill element functions with no problems.
If the consensus is that the fan oven element needs testing/replacing the element does not have screws to secure it visible inside the oven. Looking at the replacement elements I have seen it seems to have pegs/pins behind the element plate that must secure it. If so, does the element just need to be prised out from inside the oven or do I need to access it via the back of the oven? Moderatorthere is no reason the food should make any difference. If you left it on with nothing in it i think it would still trip
element
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/ag1401-aeg-fan-oven-cooker-elementyou can see the threaded studs so there will be 2 nuts at the back holding it in

ParticipantThanks Electrofix, that image of the element is the clearest I have seen, I can now see the ‘pins’ are threaded and that my hope of an easy peasy element changeover has evaporated and I will need to pull the oven out of its housing to access the back.
So from my description of the problem, you think that the fan oven element is the problem and needs replacing?May 11, 2020 at 9:02 pm #468604electrofix
Moderatorthis oven has multiple cooking options
try setting it on conventional oven which does not use the rear element and see if it trips
does it trip when using the grill ?

ParticipantI have used the grill with no tripping since the oven started tripping. I don’t use the conventional oven setting but will try it to see what happens and report back.
Thanks so far. -
