AEG Competence B1180-4 cooling fan problem

Hi there,

Great forum. I am having an issue with my AEG B1180-4 oven. It is 5 years old and works for a bit then over heats and cuts off whether using the grill or the fan oven.

I took it out of its housing and removed the top and when I turn it on the cooling fan does not move at all. Do I need a new cooling fan motor? If so is this easy to replace myself?

If not then what is the issue?

Hi.

When you say the fan doesn’t move, do you mean even if you try to turn the blade manually? The fan can take several minutes of use before it kicks in.

Please advise.

The cooling fan moves round when I spin it manually. It does not seem to kick in at all when I turn the oven on…

If the cooling fan won’t cut in, you’ll need THIS.

Power off if you intend to do this yourself.
