AEG Competence B2100-1-M oven in my daughters new apartment worked the first time she tried it but then seemed to cut out intermittently. On a subsequent occasion there was a smell of burning plastic and the lights cut out permanently along with all oven functions, apart from the clock.
Have researched the topic I took a look inside and found the selector switch had fused/melted on the pins where the infamous thermal cut-out was also connected.
I ordered replacements for both (although the cut-out looked OK) and having fitted them the lights came back on and everything seemed OK.
However, after reaching temperature for some time the oven seemed to switch of for a short period again with the lights going out and then coming back on immediately.
I am worried that there is another fault causing some sort of short circuit or arcing and that we end up back at square on again.
Any ideas anyone?
