The grill element heats up fine.
The light, fan, clock are all working ok but I’m not getting any heat.
I have previously replaced the Cooling Fan Control Thermostat so I know its not that (as the oven totally switched itself off)I’m guessing its the element at the rear where the fan is ???
Can anyone advise if this is correct and a part number if so ??
I’m guessing its as straightforward to fit as the thermostat ?
BTW this forum is one of the few great uses of the internet !, saved me a fortune last time.
Thanks v much in advanceMay 27, 2008 at 7:59 pm #253072Penguin45

Potboiler on fan oven elements HERE.
Fan oven element is p/no 3871425-10/8. I can’t see it in the shop, so an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get things moving promptly for you.
Stay safe, power off.

Hi Vern,
Should be this element in that oven from what I can see but there are several variants. They all seem to use the same element though.
It does sound like a classic fan element failure.

thanks for the quick reply..
I’ve done some more testing, being that kind of guy…
I’d left the oven for a few hours so it was cold.
I’ve then had it back on, it is putting out a small amount of heat, (I’ve had the temprature selection at 250c for well over an hour but can still comfortaly touch the ovens interior), would this symptom by typical with a blown element ??
cheers again

The only real way to test it is to stick a test meter across the terminals and measure the resistance. If you remove the rear inner panel of the oven, there may be physical evidence that the element has blown, otherwise, you’re guessing.
