AEG Competence Issue

I have an AEG Competence B3140-1 (PNC 944181619) in which the two main elements aren’t working.

I was using it a couple of weeks ago, and it was working, and then I realised that despite all the lights being on, it was actually cooling down. Neither of the two main elements were working, but I found that the boost element (the second one in the top) could still work if the correct Function was selected, or if the top temperature was selected.

I have had a repair guy have a look at it, and he thought that it was either the door sensor, or the main PCB. He returned today, and tried both parts, neither of which solved the issue. His next resort is to replace the two selector rheostats.

Is this likely to be the fault? Or could it be something else?

The oven is only about 7 years old, so I don’t see any reason to replace it for what seems like a minor fault.
