ParticipantGreat forum – helped me many times in the past, but now to something that has really got me stuck – any help greatly appreciated.
Model – AEG Competence B4140-1-m PNC 944 181 743
The problem with this oven is a temperamental one; There is power to the oven (clock on etc) however when switching it on to cook the orange light comes on but there is no heat, the fan does not kick in and the interior light does not come on. Leave it off for a day or so and everything seems to work normally. This was up until a week ago when it gave up completely after a power cut. Had an engineer out this morning who thinks it may be the door switch? I did think it would be the blue plastic bell fault – but when the engineer opened up the top part of the oven it doesn’t appear to have one!
Any ideas??!

I’ve not worked on one of these but I have similar.
From what I can gather this is a fully electronic pyrolytic oven.
There is a temperature sensor that may be faulty, part number 8996619265326 but, I doubt it. Normally when they go, they go and no longer work at all, ever.
Same for the safety stat on the back wall, part number 3302081017, but it is only £5 or something like that.
The likely suspect, IMO, is the main PCB, which is about £140 but there’s only one way to find out, replace it. Part number is, 8996619266258.
The door lock is a possibility but, given the description of the fault I wouldn’t have plumped for that, it’s part number 3302869015 and is shockingly priced at nearly £100!
Any of the parts, if you need them, can be ordered, just drop a mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for confirmation of the prices and availability but all the prices above exclude VAT and carriage.

Independent engineer cost £60 to take it to his workshop and run a few tests on it, though if he draws a blank I will probably get the AEG engineer out – but they are on a 10 day wait!!
I would feel comfortable replacing the PCB myself, but if this doesn’t cure the problem it may be an expensive exercise with no result!
Thanks anyway.
