AEG Competence oven cutting out

My oven is cutting out after about half an hour. Everything stays on but no heat and fan. Same thing happens with grill.

common fault with these ovens is the cooling fan

there is a control in the oven that starts the fan about 3 mins after it is turned on and switched it off about 10 mins after use

if you fan is running you will feel warm air at the top of the door when its on. If not it will cutout as it will overheat the control area

I cant promise I am right without an inspection but its a very common fault changes one last week

Hi, I’m new to this so apologies as I’m not sure if I’m posting in the right place?

When using our AEG Competence double oven (model DE40003000M) last night it just stopped working. No heat, fans or clocks displaying. Nothing had tripped at the fuse board and the oven socket feeding the cooker was working fine powering a radio.

Any ideas?

well I would still check the main connections to the oven first

Thanks Dave. All the cables feeding in and out of the cooker socket looked fine to me (nothing was loose)? I haven’t removed the oven from the housing though.

there will be a terminal block where the flex connects to the oven this is the first thing to check

good call Dave. Called an electrician out and the terminal block had melted!!!

6 pole part no 3192554016

if its got 3 connections its 3 pole etc

you may have difficulty as the oven is 18 years old
