ParticipantHello everyone.
I’ve one of these:

Model Number: U3100-4-M
Serial No: 63200010
P.N.C. 944171396
Top oven is fine. Bottom oven responds to nothing, no dial illumination, oven light inert (bulb is fine), fan no (spins freely on finger) & element is open circuit. Hardly surprising:
Now I replaced the element last year, but I cannot for the life of me recall if the above ‘symptoms’ were duplicated. I’m hoping AEG have some kind of protocol built into simple element failure, but I suspecting an internal fuse. It didn’t half make the household electricty drop when it failed! Help?! It’s a doddle to remove-it’s only standing on a paving slab!
Element has EIKAPL stamped into the plate. Can’t remember where I got it, but 1 year, albeit with daily use, seems a bit short. Yes I read the article! FWIW I’d rather a quality OE type replacement.
I’ve had a quick look around here-no I’m not trade but I am Electonics. And I’m no forum virgin, so thanks to the mods in advance. Beers & solder on me.
Oh I suppose I’ll clean it if I get it working again & remove the ‘orrible brocolli in cheese from it too! Unless there’s a forum dog. It’s going to do terrible things for his digestion though-duvet spinning like a hovercraft last night… 😯

There won’t be an internal fuse as such in this – but a T.O.C is likely. This will be in line with the element, so would normally only cut the power to the element alone and not the light.
Check the selector switch for blown contacts and the clock for a blown relay.Power off before any inspection. No live testing under any circumstances. :plug:
