I’ve had one of these double ovens for a while now and a few months ago the bottom oven went completely dead. Having called out the engineer I was charged 104 quid to be told it had set itself on timer following a power loss to the cooker. I subsequently checked out all wiring etc and all was fine. It happened again the other day – the oven lost power (nothing else in the house was affected and the circuit breaker was not tripped) and the bottom oven once again went AWOL. It started up again later.
AEG want to charge me another 104 quid to send out an engineer just to look at it. Does anyone know how I can be sure there is a proper fault?
TIA

You don’t need to spend that sort of money. Why don’t you try the repairs@ facility to find an engineer? If (like most of us) you don’t actually do timed cooking you could ask to have the timer bypassed so it can’t cause further problems. This can be done in such a way that the clock can still be used to display the time.
