I have an AEG Competence double oven in which the controls colling fan has suddenly gone very noisy – so noisy we cannot use the grill or main oven.

Is replacing this an easy DIY job, as one website I visited recently said ‘Contact your local dealer.’?

Anyone got any idea of what part I need? or maybe the fan just needs lubricating? Do such simple solutions still exist?

Thanks in advance for any help

Assuming that this is an “axial” fan, it may well respond to a good clean and a drop of oil. You’ll have to get the oven out of the housing to access it through the top cover, though. Two man lift……. Cut the power before attempting to move it.

If there is play on the motor bearings, the unit will have to be replaced. We’d need the Pnc number to identify the exact part required, as there are over 30 D4100 models.
