    Guys,

I’m hoping for alittle advice, or a service manual! Went to see this oven toda, the customer reporting that the main oven (when on the fan assisted mode) does not heat up as quickly as it used to. Thought it was gong to be an easy one, not sure in hindsight that I was right.

After pulling out the appliance I’ve tested both elements feeding the lower oven, both are fine, as are the one shot thermostats. What I did notice was that the lower element does not come on when the oven is set to fan assisted mode. In other modes the element does switch on, this in itself has confused me. Upon testing it the customer became a little concerned that maybe she was wrong and the lower element never did switch on in the fan assisted mode. I’m pretty sure that it should of, especially after questioning her regarding how the oven operated in the past.

Have I overlooked something really simple??? I couldn’t see any sign of damage to the selector switch, although I assume that this may not always be visible to the naked eye!

Any advice or the manual would be appreciated!

    Hi.

    Product number please?

Also, this usually has 3 elements, top, base & fan elements.

    Thanks Spin Doctor,

The element in question is the base one on the lower oven, the other two appear to be working as expected.

Apologies I should have given the additional information in my first post:

Product and serial numbers are 944171309 and 5250005.

    Hi.

The base element is not used during ventitherm fan assisted cooking but it is used on the pizza mode in conjunction with the fan & fan heater.

Ah that would explain it then.

Nice to see I wasted going on an hour testing everything 🙂

I’m going to have to go back and actually see things for myself. The customer is saying it takes over half an hour to get the oven to temp (200oC) either there is something wrong or she’s not using it correctly!

Thanks for the advice, it’s appreciated!
