Hello I have a AEG dishwasher which is only two years old , The model number is FAVORIT34502IO, The problem started about two weeks ago towards the end of the cycle the dishwasher wouldn’t stop pumping although all the water has gone out of the appliance, I stripped it down had a good look at it but couldn’t find anything wrong , as soon as I plugged it back in again and hit the program switch it worked perfectly for about two weeks, and now it’s done the same thing again it goes through the cycle and won’t stop pumping when it’s finished any ideas anyone .Cheers Paul.

most dishwashers have a float in the base that turns the pump on if its flooded

    have you checked this

Check for water in the base, if there is any, check the pipe in the back corner for leak, also dry out the heater connector make sure there no water in it.

If it’s a model with internal pipe, then check the pressure switch. Pull the hose off the pressure switch and blow into the hose to make sure it’s clear and doesn’t have water in it, if you notice a sag in the presso tube then tie it up with a tyrap. Check the pressostat for switching action (small click from the device, also it should close one connection and open another when the click occurs).

If all that checks out you could try cleaning the turbidity sensor (small round brown thing at the left front, pull it out and clean it with a toothbrush). If it still has the fault then you’ll need a new PCB.

Okay thanks for those suggestions I have had the bottom of the dishwasher off and I have noticed that there is a cylinder with what seems to be filled with salt there is a piston sat on top of the salt which is three quarters of the way up the cylinderbarrel is this correct? also the salt inside the cylinder is discoloured . Cheers Paul
