ParticipantHi Folks,
A month ago I took delivery of an AEG dishwasher. I have learnt a lot about AEG and Dishwashers since then!
It was an integrated mid range model and arrived in spotless condition with no damage to the polystyrene packing so I had no reason to suspect any damage.
Despite the arcane instructions I installed the kit without too much trouble but it was only then I noticed that there was trouble afoot with the innards.
The truck wheels for the top rack were broken and the spray bar was broken from its mount. The latter renders the machine unusable.
The seller was unwilling to swap out the machine as it was installed and sadly I am a reasonable man and could see the trouble this would bring to small family run firm. Had it been a major retailor it would have been another matter – a good reason perhaps to buy from a major retailor as opposed to supporting your local business.
Suffice to say that a month on I still don’t have the part. There are 300 ‘14000 04 09-01/5 channel draingage, gre’on order for the UK!! And the third party operative in Newton Aycliffe that runs Electrolux parts says that he has had not a few inquiries over exactly the same issue.
Wholly surmising – I suspect a disaffected employee is placing into Electrolux/AEG machines components that are broken as their is no way they could have been broken in situe. As to AEG’s response. Half a dozen phone calls to non English speaking if well meaning folk have no effect. Two e mails not answered. Two letters to head office – not answered. And have just written to the MD Electrolux UK asking for a bunch of flowers for the missus and a fix if it is humanely possible. Sent it by recorded 16th Dec – not holding my breath.
Moral – don’t buy AEG unless you are happy with a company called Electrolux who manufacture in Italy, and have third party help centres (actually quite good,) and in house helplines – if you can get through – wholly not fit for purpose.
Chocks away.

Without the conspiracy theories, the new appliance is faulty.
Ever think of ringing the service department and have them come to look at it under warranty?
The number is on the back page of your user manual.

They endeavour to provide next day service, although this may not be possible at this time of year. -
