It’s basically the same as any modern Zanussi – if anything it’s easier as the cabinet front comes off.

Once you have the front panel off, lay the machine on its back. Then smear loads of washing-up liquid on the seal lip, place it in position and with finger and thumb action follow the seal around holding it from the outside as well as the close guard inside applying equal pressure all around the 360 degrees. Once in place, invert the seal towards the inner drum and run the spring around!
Refit the top hose and away!
Tricky but the washing-up liquid is your lifesaver! 😀

Washing up liquid is the saver, if the front doesnt come off, remove the door, and i find that packing something between the seal and the weight to stop the spring coming off whilst you try to fit it helps.

I have to say that any sort of lubricant makes the gasket impossible to fit. Like the spring, it has to be stretched to fit and I have never succeeded. The spring can be jammed with a 10mm deep socket trapped at about 10 o’clock. Goes on reasonably easily.
I think Jim’s got a prototype spring fitting widget in an earlier thread. I’m sure he’ll tell us.

Penguin I don’t understand. Oh,I see, you’ve never succeeded using the lubricant.
I did one today(LW1259),having read your post beforehand, I didn’t put any lube on. It wasn’t too difficult, using bits of wood to keep the “on” stretches in place. I noticed there are “teeth” around the edge/lip of the tub, presumably to keep the seal from slipping round.Lovely machines IMO except for having to keep changing from torx to Philips and back again. (Short focus going a bit these days, perhaps too much screen radiation).

Incidentally, why have I had a spate (2) of call outs to these seals with a torn lower lip recently?

Coincidence I expect. Normally caused by overloading and customers dragging the washing out at the end and something catches the seal.
And dogs biting them for some strange reason 😕
