Customer days this runs for a while then stops with E50 (Motor fault).
Tested motor for earth faults all good. Wiring seems ok. Replaced both motor capacitors. Although it ran for 10 minutes when I was there, got call back saying it’s doing the same.Any ideas please?
Thanks

Best to go into diagnostics and see which error you get . E5?

Thanks for reply.
Pretty sure it’s e50.
Does the error need to be reset maybe?Subs

Pretty sure it’s e50.What Barry refers to is that by going into diagnostics you get the more specific E5+ error (eg E51, E52 etc).
E50 is the error code that is displayed to the customer.December 6, 2017 at 9:34 pm #452150subs

Ok I’ve been back to this dryer. Put it into diagnostic mode and the only error it shows is E32. Think this is brush sensor on drum. Checked this along with wiring all ok. The dryer runs when I’m there, put it on 10 minute timer and it works fine. Since I’ve left and told her to try it and let me know what happens she’s since said it’s stopping again as before displaying E50.
I’m baffled.
Board?Thanks

E32 error means that when you went to reading the ‘last error code recorded’ (position 10 on the dial) you must have hesitated on position 7. Once you enter diagnostics you must quickly rotate the dial clockwise directly to position 10. So ignore E32 and try again to find this E5?error.
My guess is that you will find the error is E52: Motor overheat cutout (internal TOC) at fault?

Appreciate your help Martin.
I’ve been back and it’s E51.
Motor, wiring or triac.
Now I assume it can’t be triac on the board as Motor wouldn’t run at all. Wirings ok. So must be motor?
Incidentally, just to add to the confusion, there are 2 capacitors for this motor. One 5uf and one 4uf. Are they both ordinary start capacitors or is one a run capacitor? They are described as run capacitors on connect. Customer is looking to go for repair so don’t want to make an expensive mistake. Thinking to just replace motor and both capacitors. What’s your thoughts? Thanks for your time.

One capacitor is the start/run capacitor and the other relates to the direction of rotation. I suspect one of these capacitors is failing causing the TOC in the windings to trip, hence the E51 error. Chances are that by replacing both capacitors you will solve the problem. Failing that then it’s new motor time.

If I remember correctly you get 2 new caps with the motor
