ParticipantThe oven in a house I have recently bought is not working properly. The oven part seems to be fine but whenever I use the grill it turns off after a while. I searched the forum and noted the common problem with the fan cutout switch. I have replaced this and it hasn’t made any difference. I have also tried swapping the white wires over. The replacement part had no markings on either wire.
Should the fan come on straight away? I cannot hear it or feel any air movement apart from a little bit of heat when it is on. I have also tried spinning the fan from above with the panel removed. It seems to move freely.
The details of my oven are:
Model number U41116
Type No 91E1D01KD
Pro No 944171457 01I would be very grateful if anyone could help. Also I have a relative who is an electrician. He will change parts but he isn’t experienced with ovens and such. Its more of me asking him to change a specific part which he will do.
Thanks in advance.

when you say you swapped the white wires over. It looks like it has black wires to me.

I meant the white wires coming from the part labled “ZN limitor”. This seemed to be a common problem from what I have researched.

swopping wires wont cure it fit a new one
its a thermal relay that turns the fan on after a few minutes and let it run on after the oven is turned off

I would check the continuity of the fan motor next.

agree with bazza provided you have not made a wiring mistake in fitting the new one
just to clarify
2 wires feed a heater inside the switch (in your case you have connected the white wires )
the other 2 wires are a switch (blue wires in your case) in other words if you joined up the 2 blue wires the fan would run all the timei dont know if you have the colours correct but i think you have correct connections
1 things to help
since the unit has a small heater it will get warm when energisedDave
