ParticipantI wonder if anyone can help me.
Just recently my washing has started come out soaking wet and still with soap suds in it (the softener isn’t being used despite the fact that I’ve cleaned the tray and dispenser area fully). I’m having to either put on an extra rinse or spin after each time I put a wash on.
When I put on a wash and it starts to go into a spin, something grinds and it stops spinning and seems to limp to the end of the cycle. When it gets to the end of the cycle the digital display shows the ‘beginning of a wash set up’, i.e. 114 and a flashing green light for a 50 degree wash instead of ‘0’ to indicate the end of the wash.
Something is wrong but the washing machine is not showing any error messages. I do about 6 washes a week and mostly do half washes for colours and full (big) washes for dark and white colours. I’ve emptied the drain pump.
Can anyone help me as all my clothes are like cardboard when they’re dry?
Many thanks.

Sounds like the pump may not be draining correctly. When you emptied the filter did you look to see if there was anything fouling pump impellor?

No, how do I do that and when you say ‘something fouling the pump impellor’, what could that be? My 4 year old daughter wears hair clips could it be something like that?
Also, when I did another rinse wash after the main wash, last time, the softener was taken away. Ditto doing a 95 degree wash.

Hmmm?….not just a simple pump blockage here Lucy. The motor will certainly need close inspection as indeed the other electrical components need testing during that time. Have you got a multimeter handy and proficient with enough electrical knowledge to venture forth?
Do let us know or perhaps get a local guy in to sort it for you using THIS HANDY TOOL 😀
