    Hi.

The washer above have started to jump from ‘main wash’ directly to ‘end’ and skips ‘rinse’ and ‘spin’, although only on programmes >60 degrees. The drain pump works as the machine is emptied of water but the clothes are soaked.
I noticed that the flushing from the top of the door bellow did not work and ran compressed air into the tube so that I could hear the impeller in the sirculation pump run. After staring the programme the sirculation pump ran and the programme went on till ‘end’. I opened the front panel and disasembled the two pumps, tubes and bellows and had them cleaned- the same error occurs…

Could the pump(s) have defects that depend on temperature? Are these two pumps following each other lifetime, ie should they both be replaced at the same time?

    Thanks!

Circulation pump should start up after filled to correct level, not heat dependant.
When it skips to end does it flash & if so how many times? When you say that the clothes are soaked at the end it may point to motor error.
Will it spin on full spin position?

both pumps will be permanent magnet motors which are subject to heat as a magnets strength reduces the hotter it gets, if the pumps already getting a bit sticky the heat will hinder it going. There’s no need to replace both if either or seem ok.

    Seamy:

Yes, at programmes <40degrees the machine runs perfect both on long and short programmes, included the spinning on 1600rpm.

Yes, the Start/stop-light flashes and there is an alarm (beep-beep…) as well. Sorry, forgot that in the first post.

The clothes are soaked, but the water level looks drained, ie the drain pump works but the spinning does not. Neither the rinsing.

    jimca007:

Thanks for clear and informative answer. Is this a well known error on these machines?

    Re: AEG Electrolux Lavamat 66819

yes, failure of this type of pump is pretty endemic. Years ago when I started pottering about with machines most used shaded pole pumps, very rarely failed( unless physically jammed by a foreign object) however they did, regularly spring leaks from the impeller seal. The advantage of these wee magnetic pumps is they cant really leak due to the way they’re designed but degradation of the magnetic core often results in failure.By the end of the cycle the pumps already done 3 or 4 cycles during the rinses so starting to get pretty hot so increased probability of failure on the final spin. If level one on the pressure switch doesnt drop out the pcb will either abort the spin or attempt a far less spin of maybe 400-600 revs.If it still cant get rid of the water even the slow spin will be terminated.

    Re: AEG Electrolux Lavamat 66819

    Okay, thanks!

Both pumps seem to work fine when ran in air, but I guess with the water it gets more resistance and as the water is hot it won’t help cooling the pump motor…

The circulation pump hestitates allready in the ‘main washing’, so the >60deg won’t even get to ‘rinse’ before it jumps to end. On the ‘rinse’ programme, however, it works fine but then again that programme is below 60deg.

When I run ‘drain’ program the drain pump really push good so that one I’m convinced is okay. The machine is so good I will change the pump(s). Soon the drum bearing will need to be replaced as well, so..

    Cheers, mates!

By the way, does anyone know a reliable and cheap website that holds these pumps?

    Re: AEG Electrolux Lavamat 66819

How many times does it flash?
Its could be the main motor is at fault or 3 phase supply to it, than the pumps, i’d think.
Count the flashes (beep beep alarm) & report back please, it will help to identify the problem.

    Re: AEG Electrolux Lavamat 66819

When I think back the flashing and beeps came with an E20 code. After cleaning the pipes, bellows and pipes the E20 haven’t occured.

I can’t undertstand how it could be the motor when all programs with temperatures below 40 degrees C runs fine..??

    Re: AEG Electrolux Lavamat 66819

If your machine has a digital display and has previously shown E20, a drain error, it would certainly suggest a pump issue. As much as I hate to recommend it for anything a universal askol pump motor will be cheap as chips on Flea Bay.

    Re: AEG Electrolux Lavamat 66819

    Thanks!!

Will that pump fit the interface to the tubing as the original pump? The pump has a mount that clicks into a “manifold” lowpoint with the bottom plug (drain) that goes through the low front panel.

You wrote motor, not pump so that ASKOL motor could mabye be changed on the pump rear?

    Cheers!

    Re: AEG Electrolux Lavamat 66819

Agree that with an error code E20 it points to pump problem. Appliance can show up motor fault on long programmes as motor could out on high temperature cut-out, this seldom happens on low temp’ shorter washes.
Pump 1323239002 would do the job for you i’d think, is it the same as this?

    Re: AEG Electrolux Lavamat 66819

I dont know which pumps I need. I tried to seach on the numbers below. Do you know if there are alternative pump types that could be used? The drain pump has a stange impller that look very unefficient..

    I have:
    1) Circulation:
    Askoll
    Type M113
    Cod.13220820/
    Assy 110574583

    2) Drain:
    Askoll
    Type 290603 N
    Cod. 13211580
    Assy 110579701

    Re: AEG Electrolux Lavamat 66819

    Okay guys, good news:

I took the pumps out again and the drain pump were very slow/hard to turn compared to the circulation pump that were running freely (you can feel the axle with the magnetic core in a magnetic field). I took the drain pump motor and axle houing apart and cleaned and lubricated it- it is no running freely and the machine is working on all programmes again. The axle has a gasked so I filled the housing half full of oil.

I guess that this is a short-term fix but at least I know which part to change when the trouble starts again.

Thank you so much for all your help and information!
