ParticipantAs above. Have tried to search forum to see if this is a common issue but can’t find it.
Machine has finished the cycle, the green light is on to say the door is unlocked but it won’t open. It sounds as if the switch is releasing the door (a nice healthy clunk from that area).
Have tried running another cycle and also tried powering off at the mains for a while but still no joy. Have had the top off the machine but simply not enough space to get my arm in to see if I can release from inside (and I have slim arms!). From the bottom of the machine it is all encased.
Does anybody know the likely cause and how I could at least open the door? The machine is approx 2 and a half years old.
Thank you for any help.

The door catch has snapped inside the door frame.
Safety first – Power off and unplug before you start anything….:plug:
You can release the door from the inside by pulling the rubber hose off the pressure switch, moving it to one side and you can just get your arm in the gap. Push your arm down the gap and find the door interlock with your fingers – the metal door peg will be felt. Push the metal peg towards the centre of the machine and the door will open. I did one yesterday – it’s fiddly and the unlock will hurt your finger, but it’s the only way to do it.
A new catch is required – click the “Spares @” logo or “Shop @” and they will be able to supply you with a replacement.Hope that helps,
Aqualectric.

Thanks very much for the info.
Will try tomorrow and no worries, I always isolate the power before doing anything like this.

Copied from your other post. 😉

Following Sundays post regarding getting the door open, which was solved thanks to Aqualectric, I’ve now got the door open and taken it off the machine to bring home (it’s my sons machine).
I’ve removed the screws around the perimeter of the door, but can’t quite work out how to split it. Not sure if it’s supposed to prise apart but I don’t want to risk damaging the door so I’m wondering if anybody has any advice on this.
Thanks
Its best to keep questions on the same fault to one single thread. 😉
Duplicate thread deleted.
The door will prise apart, two thin bladed screwdrivers usually do the trick, gently does it. 🙂

Aqualectric, MANY thanks for this past. Over two years later, you’ve just saved my wife and I from an extremely frustrating situation.
