AEG Electrolux Lavatherm 57840 with error code E50

Hi.

PCN: 916096228 (00) – 2007 model.

I’ve just experienced the error code E50; the motor kind of stalls and makes humming noise after some time and eventually beeps and gives the E50 in the display.

I removed the top and side panels and released the spring in order to test the motor without the drum load; the motor gets up to speed but stalls under load. The drum runs freely, as thumble dryer drums does, and there are no sound from the drum bearing in operation.

I checked resistance on the motor connections to be approx 24-56 ohm on the windings and no arcing to ground (OL on the Fluke).

Any ideas? The machine first stopped, I then took out half of the load and it runned okay. After that it stops after a few minutes after many attempts with different loads.
