ParticipantHello all. 🙂
I’ve had this machine for around 3years now, it’s worked perfectly untill recently when there is a loud ‘vibration’ coming from inside the machine. Different loads make no difference to the noise. It appears to be getting worse.
I owned a Servis dryer years ago that suffered from failure of the felt bearing pads, this made the unit vibrate before you got metal to metal contact between the drum inner/outer. Is this AEG unit similar in this respect?
I’ve repaired most of my washers/dryers over the years and am aware of the safety issues involved.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks. 😉 JMJune 8, 2013 at 11:58 pm #396088electrofix

Hi all,
Thanks for your advice Dave. Finally got a chance to look at the unit today.
What’s causing the noise are the two roller tyres that support the front edge of the drum. As you look at the rear of the unit, it’s the one that’s on the left (nearest the motor) that was making the most noise. I’ve swopped them over and the noise is much reduced. I know that this is just a temporary measure and I’d better replace the pair of them. They are 69mm Dia by 12 thick. I’m not sure if e-spares or Ransoms stock them as I’m not sure what the correct trade name is!
Does anyone know of a stockist?
Regards, JM.
