First of all, appologies for having to resort to a forum like like this to answer such a basic question. I tried AEG’s website – no relevant info and no answer to my submitted question (or even an acknowledgment) after a week. Tried the AEG customer support number and after 10 mins of hold music spoke to complete idiot who could not grasp the question, let alone provide an accurate answer. All he could suggest was to return it to the shop, but admitted he had no idea if it was bust or working normally.
So I am hoping some kind soul reading this can help!

Here’s the question: the cleaner has 4 orange LEDs that progressively light up (like a bar chart) as it charges. Once charged they all pulse once a minute to show its full. But on my cleaner only 3 LEDs light before it starts pulsing. The 4th LED never lights, not even when in ‘pulse’ mode. Is this normal or not? Is the 4th LED meant to light? If not, why is it there? Don’t really want to return it if its actually Ok, but equally if its not right I need to know.

    Cheers,

    Doug

As it is cordless and relies totally on its battery charging ability for its long term use I would advise returning it to the retailer and seek a replacement. Clearly it is faulty and AEG’s advice is sound even if their vacs aren’t. See if they can swap it for a Bosch – much better appliance IMO.
