KeymasterI wonder if you could help please
The waste pipe came disconnected and we got this error message displayed. We had water over the floor from our other appliance as well, but all cleaned up now and the waste pipe is reconnected.
When we connect dishwasher back on the mains the error message still displays. The manual states to call an engineer but would have thought we just need to reset this some how, as I understand the message means the leak prevention system has been activated. Please could you advise if we can do anything to reset this error or do we need to call an enginner?
Many thanks for any advice

Gary,
The message means that the “Aqua sytem” has been activated – this can be as simple as water in the tray under the washer, or drain pump out of circuit/blown.Pull the plug first :plug:

Thanks for for the info and will give it a try. The pump seems to be working constantly while plugged in, so hopefully its just the water in the tray. will let you know. Most kind.

just a quick question and forgive my little expertise, the tray inside seems empty, so do I need to take machine apart to get to this or just look underneath or from the back?
When I plug machine in, the pump turns on. If I select a program, it starts for a few seconds and then switches back to error message.
Thanks againMarch 5, 2005 at 6:52 pm #127852Penguin45
ParticipantCurious, tech info says that the fault should reset automatically if the float switch drops back down, ie the water disappears. For undertray read the very lowest part of the machine, not the cavity where the crockery goes.

Thanks for help. Have cleaned everything out today but no blockage and washing machine plumbed into dual water outlet all works fine. Still got C3 error message showing. Can I locate the float or is this not visible ?
If it sounds like the sensor board or float needs replacing, do you know if this is cost effective or best to spend towards a new machine?March 6, 2005 at 12:20 pm #127854Penguin45
ParticipantThe float switch is on the UNDERTRAY of the machine, ie the bottom cover underneath. If you are not confident removing panels, it may be time to get some pro help. Check repairs@ukwhitegoods.com or the Directories section for a UKW engineer in your area.

Thanks for info. Any idea on costs of circuit board if gone? 🙂

Heres something you could try:
Pull the machine right out into the room
Looking from front, lay a couple of towels along the underneath of the left side panel
Gently tilt the machine to the left side – dont put it right down on its side just tilt it a few degrees – if there is any water in the base it should now be running out onto the towel.
Do not be tempted to tilt the machine backwards – if there is water in the base it will run straight into the mains terminal block.
Once you have drained enough water the float will automatically reset & you should be able to run the machine.
If the machine keeps stopping with C3 then you have a leak somewhere – get someone out to have a look, dont be tempted to start trying to by parts yourself unless your dead sure whats wrong as parts for these dont come cheap!March 6, 2005 at 5:05 pm #127858admin

Forgot to say – make sure you switch off & unplug first!

Hi and many thanks for your advice. Will try this now and I think this could work as we found just tilting it slightly and back again cleared the error (we did get some water out but obviously not enough to drian it fully!) As soon as we moved the machine slightly afterwards, the fault came back again. Will let you know.

Hi Farm Boy, just tried this and it has resolved the problem. Makes sense what was happening now and easy to resolve when you know how. Just a shame they couldn’t explain this in the manual!!
Just want to say a big thank-you to you and would like to buy you a beer or two as appreciation. I don’t suppose you are in the West Sussex Area?
Thanks to the penguin45 as well.
Regards Gary 😀

Sadly it’s a long way to go for a beer but if im ever passing through i’ll bear it in mind. I tend to get lost & afraid if i have to go any further east than Southampton – not used to these things they call motorways, we dont ‘ave ’em round ‘ere!!!
