Hej! So i followed the common sense fault finding(DW shows error 20 after about 10 minutes of running a fresh wash) and have come up with nothing.
Tasks complete below
1.Cleaned the sink trap (the u bend under the sink that the waste hose from the DW connects to)
2. Checked and cleaned dishwasher filter and grill plate on the bottom inside of the dishwasher. Was hardly much there as gets a fairly regular cleaning but kinda looks like the filter is not held in tight thus could let detritus through? There does not seem to be any hard items in the bottom of the sump at all that could cause a blockage from what i can see. just clear water.
3. Replaced waste pump(was second hand from germany?) i put a meter on it and it shows 170 ish Ohms? But it does look like the waste pipe has been kinked at some point in its life when the DW has been pushed back into its cubby (not completely as the hose is quite tuff)
4. Removed waste hose from waste pump, water flowed through without much restriction but i cleaned it with blockage remover any ways.

I kinda get the feeling that the pump is not the problem but something else. Is there something else i can try? I have been unemployed for half a year so am happy to try anything that could help! =)

i would need the full pnc number to confirm but there is likely to be a pressure switch to detect water height. Either its faulty or its blocked stopping the pressure from getting out which makes the machine think its full

the pressure switch is mounted on front right. this switch is fed by trapped air while the water rises. it also measure pressure as water falls so if its jammed, or the hoses or the air bell is blocked it will cause faults

check hose to switch for blockages

So i couldnt get the hose off between the pressure switch and the “sump”. It was quite aged on the sump end and felt like the rubber would rip if i pulled it off. SO i stuck a straighted out wire from a coat hanger all the way up till it hit the sump end. No water, grim or anything that would indicate a blockage. I tried a test run from empty. It was already half way through a cycle(18/30minutes) when i stopped last time(I emptied it cos i didnt want it to smell) so it filled itself up and continued on. When it got to 1 minute it stopped pumping water for the wash cycle and just stayed there stopped at 1 minute. I waited several minutes then opened the door and closed it to see if that would give it a nudge forward. But now the timer shows 14 minutes.and it sits there doing nothing. I feel like an amateur. EDIT now it shows error 20 again. I couldnt see any loose connections on the “switch”

well there is noe thing i only just thought of

the wires to control everthing go from the timer in the door and the wiring goes out through the bottom of the door which then goes to each component

its not uncommon for wires to break where they bend at the bottom of the door

Thanks for you ideas electrofix I took off the front panel for a peak and they had thought of this potential issue in their design. No chance of the wires getting bent or degraded due to door movement as they are well positioned and protected. From here i thought about the following actions? What do you think?

1. Was considering taking the door cover panel off completely to see that everything is connected and looks good?
2. Acquire a new pressure switch?

both are possibilities

you have to factor in the possibility that the swtich wont cure it. what i am saying is its risk
