    Aeg favorit 40010v1dishwasher fills with very little water. Starts circulating and heating, when i open the door circulation ceases but it continues to heat water?
    Any suggestions appreciated as long as they are not rude.

    trace the heater wire back to the board and there is probably a relay that controls it.

    check for close circuit (short)

    i assume you have checked for earth faults ( most houses have rcd these days but some older ones do not so its worth checking )
