On startup my 50730 empties any existing water, starts to fill with new water but then stops after a minute displaying two flashing error lights – the middle and bottom lights of the wash stage indicators.

The manual explains what to do if teh top two lights flash but just suggests calling the AEG Service Force Centre for any other combination. Before I do – any suggestions?

No signal received from the circulation pump – are you getting any circulation?

Thanks – I can see some water coming into the washer but it stops after a very short space of time. Looks to me as though less than a litre then the machine does nothing and then the two error lights flash…

The machine’s around 5-6 years old (I think).

    Is the pump easily replaced?

Ah, now this where the fun starts…… The pump (or start capacitor) may have failed, be jammed or not getting a supply from the pcb. No straightforward answer I’m afraid.

I’d start by checking whether or not the pump is free to turn.

    Power off first, please.

the pump was seized. Decided as the machine was nearly 8 years old to buy a new one rather than repair. Gone for a Miele G1222SC
