ParticipantMy AEG was happily washing away last night when suddenly it stopped and the error message ‘dash 30’ appeared – the manual suggests that this means the leak prevention system has been triggered.
I have no idea why – all I can assume it that some paper got washed off one of the jars I was cleaning before I put it out for recycling – could this be the cause?
The unit is fitted and I can see no easy way of pulling it out to remove any panels. I guess it’s a little like the problem described here:
AEG Error MSG C3 on model oko_favorit 50700
Does anybody have any suggestions? The machine is only about three years old. When I switch the machine on all I can hear is the pump working away.
Thanks in advance!

Drain the lower tray and find the leak. It’s all you can do………
Power off, or course.

ParticipantThanks – but how do I drain the lower tray if I’m unable to pull the unit out?

remove appliance by taking screws out of the kitchen cupboards(top left and right corners when you open the door) it is proberly going to be one of 4 things the side tank block the circulation pump leaking the top spray arm tube leaking or the three way hose leaking thats about it. the other thing it could be is the tub weald this is is in very extreme cases hope this helps

ParticipantMna,many thanks for yout help – the dishwasher appears to he held in place by just one screw on the top right to the underside of the work surface, which I can get to by pulling out the washing machine. Luckily there is no screw on the left hand side as this is next to a fitted oven.
What are the white screwsfront top left and right on the unit itself?
Will report back soon!
ps – an email via AEG’s website resulted in a reply email suggesting I find my local service centre via another website – which isn’t local at all and there’s a £60 call out charge plus parts, plus labour!
Think I will definitely be fixing this myself.

ParticipantHave managed to clear the error beep by tilting the unit slightly to the left side – it’s now completing the cycle I originally set it to.
I would like to thank all of you for your top quality advice!

ParticipantNearly a year later and the same fault – what is it with these machines? All I’ve done is wash dishes as usual, so why another ’30 error message and the three dreaded beeps?

ParticipantI tried the same thing as last year – tilting it to the left – and it seemed t fix it for a quick 30 minute wash. But after 25 minutes the error message reappears.
Drain the lower tray and find the leak.
What is meant by this?

The water has to be getting into the undertray from somewhere. Draining it merely re-sets the float switch. If it’s now flooding that quickly, it should be pretty easy to spot.

I assumed it was washing, but it was simply timing out of the longer cycle. When the old cycle finished I set it to do a new one but the error re-appeared.
I don’t understand how it could be leaking? Where can it leak to? Or is the base unit a safety flood bay of some sort? How does one look for a leak?
Thanks for your help by the way

Right…..
The lowest part of the machine houses the “works” – motors, heaters, hoses, level controls and the like. The base is closed off underneath by a tray, which contains a flood protection device, sitting on the floor. It’s a polystyrene float, with a microswitch on top. If the base floods, the float rises, trips the switch and over-rides the programme control. The drain pump usually runs and runs.
Unfortunately, there’s only one way to find any leak – get the covers off and observe.

ParticipantSadly the flood alarm has been triggered again, only a couple of weeks after I last pulled the unit out and drained it. It’s not easy either, as it’s securely fitted in between a cooker and a washing machine.
I’ve looked at the unit and I really cannot see any way that water could be leaking out anywhere as the inner washing area is sealed.
Where could water be leaking from and how?
I’m really very annoyed about this – it’s driving me bonkers!

ParticipantRe: AEG Favorit 86070 IV error message
Leaks – Circulation motor seals. Salt chamber locking ring. Vent on side wall of cavity. Overfill from fill matrix (clear tube into base on left hand side). Pin hole in base of cavity. All possible……..
Nothing for it but to drag it out, get the covers off and observe. Re-route the hoses temporarily if you have to.
