The dishwasher is showing error 10 two minutes after starting a programme. It was set to come on overnight so we don’t know what happened but the dishes are wet. We aborted the programme and started it again but the same result. It sounds like it’s trying to drain and there’s a bit of a sloshing noise when it starts. We don’t think we’ve heard any water enter the machine, and (since the door sensor doesn’t work) we can’t see any being sprayed by the arms. The filters in the water pipe and the machine appear to be clean and there is no water in the bottom. There’s no problem with the water supply and we’ve tried turning the pressure up. The problem coincided with moving the fridge to the side of the machine and putting in a wooden panel to stop mice which might have caused something to move but that could be a red herring. There’s nothing obviously wrong with the inlet pipe. One of the motors (pumps?) has been whining for a couple of years but it was still working fine until this time. We have had some error 30 (leak protection) issues in the past but regular cleaning seems to have resolved this and the bottom tray is bone dry.
We’re generally pretty good at fixing things and the machine is over 14 years old so we’ll probably replace it if we can’t find a simple solution.
