Set a programme. Drain pump runs for 7 seconds, cuts off and nothing…. Programme light still on. De-pressurised Aquastop hose, nothing. Pressurising the level switch manually brings the drain pump on for 7 seconds, then nothing.

PCB can have the programme paused or programmed in the normal way. Thinking it must be at fault.

    Unless you know better…….. 😀

Yes – drain pump runs for seven seconds and then stops.

    Sorted on that front, TVM.

There is according to Connect a reed switch situated somewhere in this model, but I can’t find it in the exploded. We all know what troubles they can cause.
If not, what about door wiring?

    Nah, looked at that, Mike.

As far as I can tell, you should get about a minutes pumping out, then fill for programme. It only goes for seven seconds, then nowt (as we say oop ‘ere in’t North). The reed switches (softener and rinse aid) are passive devices (Unlike the flow meter ones) and just switch level lights.

Pretty sure it’s a logic error, but the pcbs are a helluva price. Rather not make a mistake…..

Only thing I’ve ever had like that was Zanussi washing machines with EWM1000 board. Push start, pump runs very briefly then nothing. Two I solved by replacing relays on the board. One was caused by damp motor. :con:

I would air on the side of caution with this one.
I dont know but you said it should pump out for one minuite at the start of a programme that sounds a bit excessive to me.
I would be thinking more like twenty seconds. For what its worth .I would be taking a closer look at the fill valve.

In such a situation I would not take the risk. I would fully explain situation to customer and suggest they try the manufacturer unless they are prepared to risk their money for a possible incorrect diagnosis. As independents we can’t be expected to solve every single fault on every single model.
