ParticipantHi there, this question refers to AEG built-in fridge SKS71200F0. We bought our Fridge end of December 15 and from the start it has had 2 problems: 1. it freezes goods, e.g. spinach or also ham. 2. the glass top over the right hand side veg drawer is always full of condensation water (the bottom side of the glass, into the drawer). This does not happen on the left side.
The temperature is at 5 degree. The drainage works fine, there is no dirt blocking water from getting out. Any advice please what the reason for the condensation might be, and what we can do to avoid goods being frozen? Our “loading behavior” has not changed from our 15 year old Neff fridge that we had before, and nothing ever froze in the Neff.
Thanks in advance!September 28, 2016 at 10:45 am #441339kwatt

What’s in the area?
If it’s fresh produce then it’s probably condensation due to that.
Mild freezing or frost on produce in low temp zones is not especially unusual as it will be set at 0?C-+2?C usually so it’s very close to freezing point.
Also keep in mind that the new machine is probably a lot better sealed etc than the old one so it may be less forgiving in some ways.

Thanks much for your reply K.
The veg drawer contains fruit and veg. Usually the onions are in the sweaty one, but other than that it contains the same as the drawer to the left, which doesn’t sweat.
Thanks for the explanation reg. increased efficiency of sealing in the new fridge. What do you advise reg. temperature setting? rather higher than suggested 5 degrees or rather lower? Thanks,

5?C is usually fine for most fresh veg etc. but in some units it just depends on how much and where as the temps can vary depending on where in the cabinet you test.

If you bought product in December 2015, isn’t it under warranty?
Get them out to look at it.

They probably won’t be able to do anything though Seamy and if it’s NFF the cust runs the risk of a charge for that. 🙁

Thanks K and Seamy, that’s exactly it. It’s under warranty and if someone comes out and deems the fridge runs fine, we would have to pay (and trust the word of a company representative).
Thanks for your help, I much appreciate it.
