I received delivery of a beautiful AEG S70388 fridge freezer yesterday. My husband and I had just about got it all installed and running when I decided to give it a polish on the side as there were a few smears. However, I could not get rid of the smears. I’ve tried all sorts of non abrasive cleaners from Cif kitchen cleaner to Windolene and polishing with a microfiber cloth, but the smears remain.
The fridge freezer has stainless steel doors, but the side panels are just the normal fridge paint but in grey. The smears seem to be in the paint, rather than on top and look just like someone had wiped a soapy cloth over the surface without polishing it off. Is there anything I can do to get rid of the smears?
I’ve already had one swap out because the first fridge freezer had nasty dents in the side. Now this one has smears in about the same place that the previous one had dents in. Also the smears are on the side that is exposed. I keep wanting to polish them off, but can’t.
I can’t bear the thought of another swapout, especially as I’ve got rid of my old fridge freezer this time. It was also quite fiddly getting the doors reversed as some of the screws wouldn’t go in and it took us ages.
I hope someone has some suggestions.
Thanks,
Teresa
