Having purchased an AEG CGX1130ACB twin oven gas cooker literally one week ago today, I was horrified to discover that the temperature settings on both ovens are effectively meaningless! For example, gas mark 7, generally accepted temperature 220 degrees celcius, is stated as 260C for main oven and 280C(!) for the top oven. Do AEG expect me to be smelting steel or something? Has anyone else come across these ridiculous temperatures?

Sadly this is a “thing” with a lot of ovens where the temperatures aren’t exactly accurate and most of what I’d tell you is already published here in greater detail:

With a lot of them, it’s a case of getting used to it I’m afraid.
