AEG hob base glued to glass

an old AEG hob, 611523503 went to change 2 rings today, specially ordered, and find I cannot seperate the base from the glass to get access. Obviously, cannot force it for fear of cracking the glass and it does appear the base is glued to the glass and will not budge. Anyone succesfully fixed one of these in the past?

Exploded views available on electrolux.co.uk spares shop. Sounds like sealing strip has got old.

thanks but I know where the explodeds are……..ordered 2 very expensive rings for it! Short of levering against the (obsolete) glass I can find no way to remove the base. Non standard size hob, customer only recently had new kitchen and work top cut to suit old hob.
