    Hi,

I have a AEG HK764400FB hob mounted in a granite countertop. 1 in 3 mornings the hob fails to switch on from the power ‘button’. The only way I can make it work is to switch off the power from the dedicated power outlet, wait 30 seconds and switch back on. The hob goes into some ‘system check’ and then it’s fully function. It works for the rest of the day. When it does fail, I have also tried to reset the hob, by pressing the power button for say 10 seconds and hear the reset bleeps, but it still fails to power on.

Sometimes, but not very offer, a E8 error code is shown, I understand this is a communication problem within the circuit boards? On 2 or 3 occasions the hob shuts down when all 4 zones are active.

I don’t know if this is relevant, but the problems have started, after I had a smart meter installed by my utility company? I also have a bathroom mirror that switches on the demister for no reason at all. All other applicants and computers seem to work fine.

The problem is I need to have it repaired, as I believe the hob is not a standard size. The.granite top was cut for the AEG hob,

I appreciate any feedback and thank in advance for any advice and reply’s.

have you got the full pnc number of the hob to narrow it down

got 11 hobbs from that number

interestingly looking up one at random it mentions the fault you have in e tech bullitin. says there are 2 types of unit.; onw named budgies the other roadrunner. Budgies it recommends software up update and to check user interface is in contact with hob. Roadrunner they talk about changing the user interface

mentions it is a communication problem mostly with the right hand board
