ParticipantHi Guys.
Please can anyone help.
Yesterday I called back to this AEG washer/dryer which I have just fitted new dryer elements as the old ones where a dead short.
The customer said e20 appears on drying after about 7 mins so I watched the machine take in condenser water and then after a while the fan and heaters turned on but no pump but also the water level in the filter housing did not rise.
I then turned the machine off at the plug and conected my meter to the pump terminals to see if there was 240v but when I turned back on at the plug the interlock buzzed loudly and the machine started to fill but no display on the console and now that all it does.
I have just read that E20 may be something blocked in the condenser but that is a bit late now as it looks like I have added another problem.
Can anyone give advice on if the Module can be reset or if a new module is fitted can you supply info on how to configure.
My head hurts and its probably going to be costly.
Kind regards

Did you not clean out the condenser unit when you changed the element ?

No. I did not think I needed to as the air flow was good.
I take it that I should have.March 17, 2007 at 12:36 pm #208061Turbo

Yes on a job like that it always pays to check the condenser, motor brushes and for any limescale build up in sump and waste hoses.
I have a Zanussi W1250W which is similar and the drain pump does not operate until 10 mins into the drying cycle.
Does it fill and start washing ?March 17, 2007 at 1:07 pm #208062DPDOM

Fills but with nothing in the display and regardless of program, dry spin or wash. I turned it off before the water reaches the door level.I found no sign of damage to the module.I didnot test connect my meter to the pump but removed the terminals and turned the machine on again and it was already set to a drying program. This was the easiest option as the machine is built in and take some getting out.On the first test I did the pump came on after around 10 mins but the another test it cam on as soon as the fan motor and valve cam on.
Thanks

Well if it was me I would go back to this machine armed with a new power module, door lock and wiring harness Prt no 1249331123 the lock and harness are always worth carrying I find.
Before fitting any of these parts I would check every single electrical component I could, check for earth leakage, correct resistance readings even check that new element you fitted.
If all ok I would fit the wiring harness to see if you can get a display on the interface.
If no better I would fit the door lock then the board which would have to be configured all the info on this is available on the Electrolux/Distriparts DVD.

Thanks for the info CAB.
Turns out the machine was e20 long before I fitted the dryer heaters and the customer just tried and tried until it worked.
It seems that I damaged the board when I connected my meter on the pump terminals and I won’t be doing that again. Costly mistake if the e20 is not the boards fault.
Thanks again CAB.
